Troubleshooting: Rewards

Scanning in-person?

It adds a weird code or item to my inventory...

 If this pops up, simply click "Cancel" or the back arrow ← on the top left corner to leave this screen and the discount will still be applied as an "App Discount" in red.

Unfortunately, this is an ongoing issue with Clover as it believes you're adding retail inventory by scanning a "barcode"

Employees without "Inventory" permissions will not face this issue.

Says "This reward is not available because the required items are missing from the order"...

These qualifications must be met in order for the reward to successfully apply:

      • The exact same item this reward applies to in Hazlnut must be added to the cart on your PoS (item IDs must match)
      • The item that will be discounted must be in the cart before adding/scanning the reward
      • The item that is mapped to the reward must be set to show online in Hazlnut
      • Any other pre-qualifiers must be met before scanning
        • For example: "Free fountain drink with the purchase of an appetizer"
          • Must have 1 appetizer like Guacamole, Nachos or Mini Sliders AND the Fountain Drink in the cart before scanning... If you put Spinach Dip + Fountain Drink in the cart it won't work. If you put Guacamole + Can of Coca-Cola it also will not work.

Says "You do not have permission to add items to inventory"...

And it does NOT apply the discount:

From your Clover device or settings: check your Employee Permissions... 

Click to expand the 'Register' section and make sure all Admin/Managers/Employees have this permission turned on: 
      • Apply custom discounts ✓ 

And it DOES apply the discount:

If you see the App Discount applied to your subtotal in red, ignore the message and continue to check-out.

Can't find place to add reward?

Make sure you are logged into the app. 

    • At the top of the side-bar menu click on ‘Loyalty Rewards’
    • Click on ‘View Rewards’ to see your rewards, details about the reward, requirements to qualify, and their expiration dates
    • Return to the main menu and place your order as usual (be sure you're still logged in)
    • Add the correct items to your cart for this reward:
      • For example: "Free fountain drink with the purchase of an appetizer"
        • Must have 1 appetizer like Guacamole, Nachos or Mini Sliders AND the Fountain Drink in the cart... If you put Churros + Fountain Drink in the cart it won't work. If you put Guacamole + Can of Coca-Cola it also will not work.
    • At check-out there is a button that says ‘add reward’ right above the ‘choose payment’ option. Click ‘add reward’ to select your reward and you will see the change to your subtotal. 

Says "Not valid"...

Unavailable: This reward is not available because you don't have the required items in your cart.

    • Return to the main menu (unfortunately, the items in your cart will be dumped...)
    • At the top of the side-bar menu click on ‘Loyalty Rewards’
    • Click on ‘View Rewards’ to see your reward details: requirements to qualify and their expiration dates
    • Return to the menu and add the correct items to your cart for this reward:
      • For example: "Free fountain drink with the purchase of an appetizer"
