Use our upsell feature to suggest certain items to your customers such as adding a drink or dessert to their order.
An upsell will pop-up when a customer clicks on the cart or bag to check out. You can set rules to which item or category will trigger the upsell. Multiple upsells can be created, but only one will appear. Use our Re-Order feature to prioritize certain upsells above others.
Create an Upsell
- Go to the Menu Management page
- Go to the Upsells tab
- Click 'Add Upsell'
- Select item or category that will pop-up to be suggested
- Enter a description of what you are suggesting; we recommend:
- Thirsty? Let's add a drink!
- Would you like to add one of our delicious handmade desserts?
- We recommend Chips & Guac with this!
- Optional: Add a mouth-watering image to increase the success probability that the customer will add it to their cart
- Click 'Save'
- Click 'Modify' next to the upsell to set up your triggers/avoidances
- Scroll to the bottom and click 'Add Condition'
- Check-mark ✓ the Trigger column for category(ies) or item(s) you want to trigger this upsell (e.g. If an Appetizer or the Beef Burrito item is added to the cart, it will trigger a dessert)
- Check-mark ✓ the Avoid column for category(ies) or item(s) you want to avoid this upsell (e.g. if a dessert is already in the cart, you don't want to recommend dessert again)
- Click 'Update' & click 'Save'
Upsells will only work when the item/category is set to show online.
The upsell will redirect them to add the item to their cart.
Set Priority
- Click Re-Order
- Drag-and-drop the upsells to prioritize certain upsells above others
- Click 'Update'
Only one upsell will pop-up when they click the cart or back to check out. By prioritizing certain upsells above others, you can guarantee that one will be the suggestions if the customer adds multiple items to their cart with upsells attached to all of them.
