Create your very own BOGO reward or promo-code following the steps outlined below:
Promo-Codes
- Log-in on the Hazlnut dashboard
- Go to the ‘Guests’ tab
- Click on the ‘Rewards’ tab
- Click ‘Create Reward’
- Give the Reward a name
- Add a description if you'd like to (be sure to keep it under 63 characters)
- For a BOGO discount, the amount will be 100.00
- Choose percentage off price/total
- Applies to: Item
- 'ANY (1) of these:
- You can decide to what this reward applies by category or by item name
- Entire category: If you wish to allow the reward to apply to all items within a category, select the category.
- Only certain items: If you want the reward apply to certain item(s), check-off the the item(s) it can apply for.
- Item purchase required?
- For BOGO: Select the category/item(s) same way you did in the previous "Applies To" section. They will need to buy one of these items (purchase required) in order to apply a discount to one of the above items ↑ (applies to).
- Check ‘Add as Promo Code’
- Enter the Promo Code
- Choose which location(s) the code is valid at
- Select start date and expiration date.
- Click ‘Create'
Promo-codes will only work when the item/category is set to show online.
The customer must put the item(s) into their cart in order for the promo-code to successfully apply the discount on it.
Loyalty Rewards
- Log-in on the Hazlnut dashboard
- Go to the ‘Loyalty’ tab
- Click on the ‘Rewards’ tab
- Click ‘Create Reward’
- Give the Reward a name & description (be sure to keep it under 63 characters)
- Enter the amount of points required to earn this reward
- If customers earn 10 points for every $1 spent, how much do you want them to spent to earn this reward? If you want your guest to spent $50 to earn this reward, the points value amount will be 500 pts
- Max. Value: For a BOGO discount, the amount will be 100.00
- Choose percentage off price/total
- Applies to: Item
- 'ANY (1) of these:
- You can decide to what this reward applies by category or by item name
- Entire category: If you wish to allow the reward to apply to all items within a category, select the category.
- Only certain items: If you want the reward apply to certain item(s), check-off the the item(s) it can apply for.
- Item purchase required?
- For BOGO: Select the category/item(s) same way you did in the previous "Applies To" section. They will need to buy one of these items (purchase required) in order to apply a discount to one of the above items ↑ (applies to).
- Click ‘Create'
Customer will need to add the required purchase item and the discounted item to their cart in order to apply the reward. The amount discounted will be for the cheaper item of the 2 applicable items in their cart.
Offers (Gifted Rewards
- Log-in on the Hazlnut dashboard
- Go to the ‘Guests’ tab
- Click on the ‘Rewards’ tab
- Click ‘Create Reward’
- Give the Reward a name
- Add a description if you'd like to (be sure to keep it under 63 characters)
- For a BOGO discount, the amount will be 100.00

- Applies to: Item

- This will not be added as a promo-code
- Click 'Create'
This type of reward does not require points, and cannot be used online/on the app/on the kiosk with a promo-code. Instead, this reward is best used for unique scenarios when you want to say 'Thank You' to a guest, invite local influencers with a reward as an incentive, or express your apologies if the customer had a poor experience.
These rewards can only be accessed by your guest if it is sent to them on the app. You will need to know their username or email, or it can be sent to ALL registered users, or it can be sent to a pool of segmented users. FAQ
